How will this blog help me?
======================================
This blog will help you set up everything a gamer needs to have, and will cover many commands you need to install video card drivers, Steam, and for the Youtubers who capture their games. There will also be tweaks to the OS itself to get the maximum frame rate by optimizing the OpenGL kernel.
Why do I chose Linux for my gaming.
=================================================
Linux has made major strides since its early days, Even Gabe Newell (Owner of Valve) has directed development towards the FREE and Open-source operating system. AMD and nVidia also have developed native drivers for their cards.
Steam is available on Linux with loads of titles ported from Left 4 Dead to Counter Strike: Source to Team Fortress 2. You can also edit your own Linux copy and make your own distribution. Some people come to Linux and never go back.
A few notes
======================================
What people will need to remember is that NOT ALL GAMES ARE COMPATIBLE. Its up to the developer to make games for the OS. EA does not look set to do that, sorry. Codemaster's latest game engines are effectively native to Linux but they do not look set to develop. The good news is that there is WINE. WINE basically allows you to run Windows applications but normally some software will be incompatible.
